People, Policy, Partnerships

Pratima Foundation is a non-profit that operates in the rural grassroots of Western Maharashtra. With impact goals and targets aligned to the UN SDGs, PCF has created a niche in designing and implementing cohesive and robust projects. Our approach to a project is to deploy a 'collective action model' where people (beneficiaries), policy (governance) and partners (experts) come together to solve issues that have been plaguing society for decades. We are on a mission to transform villages into collaborative, self-reliant, value-based communities.

Why Rural Transformation?

The rural landscape of India accounts for more than 50% of the nation’s population. While innumerable schemes, government initiatives and non-profit projects address the needs of this demographic, the complexities of the rural fabric make it impossible for most 'one-time solutions' to leave a long-term impact. At Pratima Foundation, we believe in an innovative and sustainable approach to tackle root causes of issues, as demonstrated in our work in Western Maharashtra. Building on this success, we've expanded to Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Karnataka, Jharkhand, and Tamil Nadu. Our goal is to bridge the gap between social challenges and practical solutions by involving communities at the grassroots level, striving for an inclusive nation where everyone can thrive.
